10 Best things to love about Fall
Hello from Disney World in Florida! Okay, you may be asking “Why am I posting the 10 best things to love about fall while vacationing in Florida in August? Well, yes I was just lounging at the pool but I am dreaming about attending the (Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.)
This celebration is everything I love all in one. Halloween! My favorite holiday. Fall decorating! And Hello, it’s in Disney World! It doesn’t get any better than this for me. I’m so excited!
So, yes I am thinking about Fall. I did start my fall decorating before I left for vacation but am looking forward to diving into it full force when I get back. I will post some pictures of my progress and hopefully inspire you to get a jump on yours as well.
But for now to get you thinking about Fall I’m posting my
10 best things to love about Fall
1. The smell of the air.
Have you ever noticed how the air changes in the fall and somehow smells “new and fresh?” Nothing like taking a walk in the woods and taking in a nice deep breath.
2. That “Back to School” feeling.
I still get that feeling even though I have been out of school for a very long time. Shopping for school clothes, buying pencils and notebooks, and finding out who my new teacher was, were some of my fondest memories as a child. Now watching my grandchildren getting ready for school takes me back.
3. Fall clothing.
Maybe it’s the whole back to school shopping thing but I love fall clothes. Nothing like cuddling up in a nice comfy sweater or rocking that new pair of boots. Especially, if you’ve put on a few pounds. Nothing like a bulky sweater to hide your muffin top. LOL
4. Halloween!
My favorite part is decorating for Halloween. Every year I either have a party or decorate the yard for trick-or-treaters. We also just started a Halloween party for our campground in August and do a huge decorated walk thru our campsite and it has become a big hit. And of course, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! If your planning a trip to Disney, this is a MUST-DO!
5. Fall Decorating.
I love how decorating for fall warms up your home. Layering on the blankets, pillows, rugs, wreaths, baskets and more, really helps to cozy up any space. It feels a lot like that comfy sweater I love. 🙂 Check out my post “Fall entryway decorating“
6. Warm days and cool nights.
It’s really the best of both worlds. Not too hot, not too cold. The only bad part is up here in the north it doesn’t last very long. Winter seems to be lurking right around the corner. So get out there and check off some items on your bucket list while you still can.
7. Campfires and toasting marshmallows.
Although we do this a lot during the summer at the campground, there is just something special when the weather is cool and your singing Johnny Cash with your entire family around a roaring fire. Memories.
8. Fall TV Shows.
I hate to admit it but I’m a TV junkie. I really miss “my shows” during the summer. The greatest invention ever is a DVR. I swear I’d never get anything done if it wasn’t for that. Nothing like snuggling your kitties, under a warm blanket with the remote control.
9. Colored Leaves.
There is nothing more beautiful then seeing Autumn in full force up here in the northeast. It’s like mother nature puts on a show for us and it’s breathtaking. And if you want to visit New England during the fall, here is a list of things to do.
10. Visiting Farms.
Corn mazes, apple picking, fresh baked pies and donuts, hay rides, pumpkin picking, and fairs, are all things I love about fall. Now I can’t wait!
